My Anti-Aging Secrets

Maracuja Oil// c/0 Strivectin Neck Cream// c/o Neck Serum Roller// c/o Strivectin Active Infusion Youth Serum

When I was in my teens and early twenties, it exasperated me when strangers thought I looked much younger than my actual age and it especially urked me when I was carded past the age of 21.  It’s ironic to think that at one time I was willing myself to be older.  Oh, how times have changed.  These days, I’m absolutely thrilled if I’m carded buying a bottle of wine or if someone seems surprised to learn I have four children.  But, I realize that my youthful looks will gradually fade and when they do, I hope I will be able to accept those changes gracefully.  I think older women look beautiful when they embrace their age rather than fight it with botox, plastic surgery and pounds of make-up.  Is it just me or do the Housewives look a little silly in their skimpy outfits and their overdone faces?  (With the exception of Ericka Jane of course…love her!)

In the meantime, I do have a few tricks up my sleeve for maintaining a youthful appearance.  Aside from the obvious: exercising, getting eight hours of sleep, drinking tons of water and eating right (more about that here), I’m sharing four products that I swear by for providing a wrinkle free, smooth complexion.

  1. Maracuja Oil:  I first read about this oil on Sarah’s blog and I’ve been hooked ever since.  Although I was originally skeptical about using oil on my face, it’s not at all greasy.  Instead, it’s incredibly hydrating and leaves my skin super soft.  It also balances out my skin tone by combatting inflammation, break-outs and fine lines.  Plus, it’s a fraction of the cost of Tarte’s version. I use it as a moisturizer after I wash my face in the morning.  Then, I follow up with this eye cream and this tinted moisturizer which I just started using and I love!
  2. Strivectin Neck Cream:  This neck cream is so creamy and rich and feels great massaged into my skin.  I had started to noticed subtle lines forming on my neck but after using this cream for eight weeks, I’m happy to report that those lines are no longer visible.  I use a dime size amount morning and night.
  3. Strivectin Neck Serum:  I was initially hesitant to try this serum out because of the roller.  But, I have to say it feels so good applying it and I’m all for anything that will tighten, firm, and lift my neck area.  I use the cream first, then this serum day and night.
  4. Strivectin Active Infusion Youth Serum: This serum is a miracle in a bottle.  I use a teeny amount each night after washing my face and that’s all I need to achieve a smooth, healthy complexion. With each pump, the spheres are released to provide a combo of high-potency ingredients including age-fighting collagen- and elastin-enhancing peptides, bio-technically derived algae, lipids and antioxidants.  The bottom line is this stuff will make you look younger!

I’ve also recently discovered Aveda’s wedding mask and eye cream which I’ve been using at night.  I’ll share my review of these two products next week on the blog.
