{Green hydrangeas}

August always seems to be a month that just flies by.  Once we get to August 1st, I mentally begin the (dreaded) back to school countdown.  I know many parents look forward to sending their kids back to a routine after 10 long weeks.  But, personally, I prefer those unscheduled days when we wake up, enjoy a stack of pancakes, pack a lunch, and see where the day takes us.  The past few weeks, I’ve spent a concentrated amount of time with the kids.  We’ve been busy exploring Long Island, taking a mini get away down to Washington D.C., and this past week, I had the pleasure of volunteering at their Bible camp.  Although I’m physically and mentally exhausted at the end of the day, I can honestly say that I will truly miss them once September rolls around.  So, for now, I’m going to savor the last few weeks we have left.  Summer is by far my favorite season so I thought I’d share a few highlights from our recent adventures.  We’re heading over to Fire Island this weekend and I cannot wait to spend a few long, lazy days at the beach with our friends and family.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
