Faux Fur with Clothes and Quotes

Today, I’m so excited to team up with the lovely Shannon from Clothes and Quotes!  I love Shannon’s easy and effortless laid back Arizona style and I’m sooo jealous that while I’ll be frozen within the next few weeks, Shannon lives in the sunny southwest where winter seems like a distant memory.  Considering that faux fur vests continue to be all the rage this season, we decided to join forces and show you how this trend can be styled in two completely different climates.  Be sure to check out Shannon’s site and don’t forget to follow Shannon on Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest and Bloglovin!

Shannon says:

I love a good fur vest, but living in Phoenix I don’t often get to wear mine. When Kate and I decided on styling a fur vest, I automatically thought I would use my (favorite) big gray/white one, but as I was putting together an outfit around that specific vest I realized how absolutely unrealistic it would be for me to wear that vest in 80 degree temps. So I  settled for this little brown one. This was the first fur vest I even own and while I don’t wear it often, I loved the idea of reworking it into my wardrobe. Adding my leather jacket made the vest much more my stylish and
I feel this combo will actually be worn quite a bit through the “colder” months….the gray one will just have to wait for Christmas in MI.

My look: Fur vest// Cashmere Turtleneck// Black Pants// Black Booties// Leather Gloves// Ferragamo Satchel (similar splurge and save)// Michael Kors Sunglasses

I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect faux fur vest for a while now but considering that it’s the trend of the moment, I didn’t want to splurge on one. So, when I spotted this affordable version at Target, I knew I had found the one.  As a New Yorker, the overall style here is a blend of chic and functional. We wear a lot of black so a head to toe black ensemble is definitely the norm.  Also, comfort and warmth are key essentials as the temperatures drop.  It gets pretty chilly here during the winter and since New York is a big walking city, appropriate layering is a must! This vest is versatile in that it can pair well with simple black pants or jeans or it can be dressed up with a classic pencil skirt or a shift dress.  Worn on its’ own or coupled with a comfy overcoat on frigid days, this vest will be on major rotation this season!
