Festive Holiday Bar
Rustic Tray (similar here and here)// Ice Bucket, old (also love this one)// Waterford Tumblers// Ikea Martini Glasses// Red Wine Glasses// Tulip Glasses// Jonathon Adler Coasters// Mini Tree (similar)// Tuscany Print (Ikea Frame)
This year, I made the controversial decision to forgo a real tree in our living room. Usually, I set up two trees…an artificial one in our family room for the kids to decorate themselves and a real one in the living room with white lights, red bows, and gold ornaments (the kids call it “Mommy’s tree”….I admit I’m a bit of a treezilla so the two trees are a compromise…#truth). I opted to just go with the one tree this season because we made a last minute decision to take a family vacation post Christmas (cannot wait) and I didn’t want to return home to find pine needles all over my floor. The other reason was that I wanted to set up a festive holiday bar in our living room when we host our family and friends on Christmas Eve. The tree and the bar would’ve made the space too tight so I’m trying something new this holiday. I’m using my desk (last featured here) as the bar and when I tested it out the other weekend, I was so pleased to discover I had a plethora of space to accommodate all the necessities! I like to use a rustic tray to display the wine, liquor and sparkling non-alcoholic options (Ikea makes a tasty pear sparkling drink fyi…perfect for kids). Of course, an ice bucket, an array of glasses, and fun cocktail napkins are a must. And how cute is this mini tree? I picked mine up at the Christmas Tree Shop but I also love this affordable option with the pine cones and burlap base. Lastly, these Hollywood coasters by Jonathon Adler are a favorite of mine. I received them as a gift a few years ago and I love setting them out for guests…so timelessly chic!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. It’s supposed to be really mild here in New York over the next few days so I’m looking forward to meeting up with friends in the city on Saturday and a fancy holiday soiree with the hubs Saturday night! this is such a great idea, we haven’t gotten a tree in years because it’s become too much work!
