Flared
I’m still on the fence when it comes to the latest trend in denim, the flared leg. I think, as with all jeans, the fit and the wash have to be just right as well as how they’re styled. While I can appreciate a boho look a la Rachel Zoe, I know this particular style isn’t me no matter how hard I try. As I get older and am more in tune with my personal style, I stick to looks that work for me…ones that make me feel comfortable, confident and chic. So, if I do eventually invest in a pair of flared jeans, I think the option that I would veer towards is a darker wash for fall like these splurge ones or these save ones (not too, too long but not too short….the length has to be perfect!) paired with a fitted blazer, this turtleneck (save option here) and these boots (save option here). I’m thinking a modern day Ali MacGraw…are you with me? What’s your take on this trend? If so, how would you style your look?

I feel like we barely said goodbye to flares (what in 2009/2010), and they’re already back!?! Wish I would have saved a couple of pairs 🙂

Definitely agree with you on opting for the darker wash version! I am nervous because I am shorter and my thighs are bigger, so I don’t want to add unnecessary volume. I think the key here would be getting to the store and trying a lot of them on!

As a short girl, I’m not sure I can pull off the flared look, but I love the inspo that you rounded up!

I was definitely on the fence about them until yesterday when I tried on a pair and realized NO, they’re just not for me. I feel like you need to be tall-ish to pull them off! Let us know if you do find a good pair!

I’m still partial to the skinny jeans and riding boots look, but I don’t dislike flared jeans. I prefer them in a dark wash or black, and paired with a fitted blouse or blazer, like how it’s styled in the fourth photo.

I’m with you – -as fads come and go it’s hard to decide which ones to really invest in. I’d love a pair of dark flared jeans!! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
