Healthy Chocolate Chip Scones
Over the weekend, one of the moms from my son’s baseball team brought a batch of chocolate chip scones to their game and they were a huge hit. I seriously wanted to go back for seconds but I didn’t want to that person so instead, I decided to attempt this simple and healthy version at home. What I love about this recipe is that I already had all the necessary ingredients in my cupboard (sidenote: I substituted maple syrup for agave and I used plain yogurt in lieu of Greek yogurt plus I added two tablespoons of ground flaxseed) Did I mention it only requires one bowl? The clean-up was so quick and easy! There’s no reason why you can’t replace the chocolate chips with blueberries, cranberries or raisins to make several variations of this recipe. It makes the perfect healthy breakfast on the go or an ideal afternoon snack.
