Holiday Style
Tartan Mug// Cable Knit Pillow// Cashmere Throw// Topiary// Candle// Berry Wreath// Branches// Pine Cone Candles// Tray// Baskets
This is the time of year when I start thinking about decorating our home for the holidays. Let me emphasize the part where I said I start thinking about it because truth be told, it’s a daunting task with four children running around the house. Typically, I put it off until the second week of December because it’s time consuming and for my type A personality, it’s a bit stressful. Considering the fact that I have three incredibly energetic boys, I’m not about to put out delicate pieces we have received as gifts over the years. So, I end up displaying a few of them on the highest shelves of the bookcases in our family room. Aside from that, I keep our holiday decor pretty streamlined and simple. I’ve never been a fan of clutter or a having a plethora of tchotchkes so I suppose you could say I style my home similar to the way I dress…clean, classic and understated. Here are ways in which I like to infuse some winter decor into our home…a festive mug, cozy throw pillows and blankets, an elegant topiary, a pomegranate candle, a cheerful berry wreath, birch branches in wicker baskets as well as rustic trays and pine cones. These would also make lovely gifts because they are timeless and functional pieces that can be used year after year. What’s your approach to holiday decorating? Do you go all out or do you adhere to a less is more philosophy?

I’m the same way, I don’t go overboard on holiday decor but I do love to infuse a little holiday cheer when decorating this time of the year! I love your picks…especially that topiary!

I can only imagine trying to decorate with 3 little boys running around!! I love all of these classic items you’ve picked, and I know your home will look so chic! 🙂 Since we haven’t bought a home yet, we don’t really have many decorations! But hopefully one day we will have our own little traditions!

I love the idea of infusing some wintery decor into your home! We have such a small and full space that we’re likely not going to decorate a ton (or it would just look more cluttered than it already is! Love your selections here– especially the Jo Malone 😉

Love the items you chose…my take on holiday decorating is very similar. I hate clutter and excessive “stuff” so I try to add a few sparkly touches here and there.

Ha first of all the fact that you call spell tchotchkes really impresses me! But when it comes to holiday decor I think I am somewhere in the middle. I lot visiting homes that are all decked out but in my own space I prefer things to be a bit more calm with a few perfect holiday touches. I go with a lot of rustic holiday decor and add in minimal amounts of red & green throughout the space.

At some point in time my Christmas decorations were just a tree and then a few strands of lights. This year I’m kind of wanting to go all out — I’m thinking gold everything!

I love decorating for the holidays and try to do something in every room of the house, so I guess you could say I go all out. I’m nervous this year because we finished off our basement and I have no idea where anything is. Those baskets are so pretty, and I’m always looking for new candles to try.
