When it comes to my personal style, I always go by the mantra of less is more or as Don Draper would say, ” Make it simple, but significant.”  Understated doesn’t necessarily translate to boring.  In my opinion, it indicates a certain self awareness…to know what you can pull off with a sense of confidence and ease and most importantly, to never look like you tried too hard.  I suppose that’s why I’ve always gravitated towards well constructed jeans and and a soft white tee.  It’s an effortless pairing that is endlessly classic, versatile and flattering .  This explains why I never over accessorize or wear a ton of make-up (trust me ladies…as you get older, the less make-up, the better).  It’s just not me…even my engagement ring and wedding band are very simple because I knew I’d wear these pieces forever and I wanted to feel comfortable and true to myself.  Normally, I wouldn’t wear a watch but when the team at Jord reached out to me and introduced me to their wood watch collection, I was instantly intrigued.  Immediately, I knew this was a piece I could see myself wearing everyday and that’s exactly what has happened.  Ever since I received it, I’ve been wearing it everywhere.  I even had a dad at my son’s baseball game ask about my watch the other day (by the way, they make men’s watches too which would make a perfect Father’s day gift).  I chose the Ely in maple because I love the light wood and the clean design.  I’ve become so used it now that I don’t even reach for my phone anymore when I need the time.  I guess you could say stylish and functional had me at hello…
