I’ve been having a hard time doing the whole balancing act thing this summer. Any other mamas out there feeling the same way? The mom guilt has been REAL! If I’m not working, I feel guilty for neglecting my responsibilities and if I’m working but not spending time with the kids, I feel guilty for ignoring them. I keep telling myself to just take a deep breath, relax, and try be in the moment! I have to remind myself that my house doesn’t have to be perfect all the time, pizza for dinner (and Taco Bell) is okay when we have two boys playing travel baseball most nights, and the fact that we have been going to the pool and not the beach as much this summer is okay. My husband keeps telling me, “They’re not deprived Kate!” While the intellectual side of me knows all this, the emotional side wants to be the best mom at all times! Ugh! Definitely feeling pulled in two directions! On a brighter note, I’ll be teaching my son Patrick’s bible school class this week and I’m really excited to be there with him everyday! Be sure to follow along on Insta stories and Snapchat (@taffetatulips). Patrick is pretty hilarious. He certainly keeps me laughing and on my toes at all times! Five is such a great age.
Let’s move onto my easy, breezy palm print tank! I scooped this top up over at Le Tote and I’m loving how cool and comfy it is! This past weekend was a hot one so this was the perfect piece. Breathable, flattering and tropical…this top checks all my boxes. I paired it with my favorite distressed denim shorts and these Aerin sandals for a casual yet polished everyday look. Don’t forget, use code TAFFETAANDTULIPS over at Le Tote to receive 20% off your first month! I hope your Monday is off to a good start!
