A few weeks back, we ventured over to the north shore to witness the rose arches in full bloom at the Planting Fields Arboretum. Although it was slightly cloudy and a little buggy, it was well worth crossing the island from one shore to the other and tolerating the muggy weather. After a break on a nearby bench complete with ice cold lemonades and a sleeve of Oreos, all was right in the world so we decided to try and capture this idyllic setting. There were several brides having their photos taken in various spots and while I admired their exquisite gowns, I was relieved to be wearing this breezy, striped cotton dress on a hot and humid July afternoon. We were only able to take a handful of photos before my very spirited four year old son sprinted ahead towards the fountain so we were compelled to quickly wrap things up!
