Banana Mango Smoothie
Every year, once the holidays are over and after a month spent consuming a plethora of appetizers, heavy meals and decadent desserts, I’m definitely ready to embrace clean eating, exercise and getting back into the habit of a good night’s rest. One of the ways I infuse fruits and veggies into my diet while still on the go is to whip up different kinds of smoothies (last seen here and here). While the blueberry kale combo is by far my favorite, I’ve recently been enjoying this refreshing alternative: the banana mango smoothie. Simply blend nonfat plain yogurt, frozen mango, one banana, one tablespoon of agave nectar, two tablespoons of ground flax seed, 1/4 cup of milk and crushed ice and voila…you’ll have yourself a tasty tropical treat in no time! You may not be able to escape the cold but at least you’ll be able to experience island life for a few minutes each day…

I love this! I’m doing a sugar detox this month so I am all about smoothies. I like that you’ve incorporated flax seed into the smoothie for some added health benefits. And, since I can’t escape this frigid LI weather, I’ll settle for a tropical tasting smoothie!

This looks delicious. I’m a real sucker for non-complicated but fresh juices and smoothies! Oh, and I’m LOVING that napkin. I need to invest in more things like that; cute napkins, dishes, etc – maybe it’ll help get me more excited about cooking and making things that actually require heat!
