Let me begin by saying that no, I did not take these photos over the weekend. It was ridiculously cold so I went into hibernation mode Saturday night and all day Sunday. The wind was howling and the arctic blast was in full effect so I hunkered down, baked a chocolate cake, and binge watched The Good Wife (sooo good). We took these photos last week before the temps took a major dip although I’m not going to lie and tell you it was pleasant or comfortable getting these shots. It was annoyingly windy and I needed a very hot beverage after we captured these images. But, I’m not one to waste a good hair day and since I was coming straight from a much overdue appointment, I decided to brave the elements with my fresh, new look. I was itching for a change so my hair stylist convinced me to take a few inches off and go a little lighter and I couldn’t be more pleased! Now, onto my outfit…I scooped up this cozy knit sweater at Old Navy on sale the other week and it’s been on repeat ever since. I have paired it with just about everything from jeans to leggings to skinny black pants. Plus, it’s the perfect layering piece worn underneath a blazer or a vest because let’s face it…warmth takes precedence these days! Since I’m seriously over my snow boots, these over the knee boots (which are currently on sale!) are a welcome alternative. They’re incredibly comfortable yet still lend any ensemble a polished and pulled together look.

I completely feel your pain! It has been unbearably cold here as well and I wish I could say I shot this weeks photos in warmer weather, but that was sadly not the case. On a happy note, you look great in this all black look and I am seriously loving the hair! Wish warmer days for us both! XO

I’m all about cozy sweaters when it is 5 degrees out! I picked up a few last week and have been wearing them nonstop ever since. If only the weather would cooperate I could reveal them on my blog!

I haven’t taken pictures in so long because the weather has been so cold too! I can’t not wear a jacket, even if it’s for a couple minutes. I love your knits though! I have a similar grey sweater but never thought to wear it with all black!
