As much as I love dressing up, the reality is that as a mom of four in the suburbs, my style is predominantly casual.  So, on the rare occasions that I do get glammed up, I look for versatile and classic pieces that I can use repeatedly over the years.  When I spotted this crystal peter pan collar necklace from The Shopping Bag, I instantly knew it would be the ideal accessory for the holidays.  I love the fact that it can easily elevate a simple black dress or jazz up my favorite cashmere sweater, which I usually pair with a pencil skirt or jeans.  This is definitely a look I would wear to a holiday cocktail party or hosting a get together at my home.  I’ve been wearing cozy sweaters non-stop lately and this wool purple skirt is feminine, flattering…and most importantly warm!  I had a little trouble keeping it straight as we took these photos because the wind was relentless the other day…and it was positively frrrreezing!
