Oh, Christmas Tree

This past weekend, we decided to start a new family tradition by driving out east to a Christmas tree farm. The kids were so excited to choose the tree and assist with the process of cutting it down and tying it to the car. But, the most enthusiastic was my son Michael who we allowed to make the final decision. His choice was…interesting but he was so elated at that very moment that I couldn’t deny him this rare opportunity. Michael hauled the tree up the hill and helped bundle it up, all with a huge grin on his face. Now that it’s in our living room, it somehow looks a lot larger than it did in that vast field. My husband and I have come to the conclusion that we have a pretty obnoxious Christmas tree (it literally hits the ceiling) but that’s okay because it made Michael’s day…and really, what’s better than that?

What a great tradition! I was just telling my fiance that I want to do this if/when we move back to Michigan. And of course you look perfectly chic to go cut down a Christmas tree…dressed perfectly for the occasion!

Aw that is so fun! We still have a fake tree but I told my boyfriend once we have children that we have to go back to real trees! It’s so much more festive.

Such a fun family tradition, Kate! So cute that you let him pick the one he wanted – I bet he will be talking about it for days and years to come.
