This weekend, I’m sooo excited to ditch the cold weather and hop on a flight down to Florida. As much as I enjoyed yesterday’s picturesque first snowfall here in New York, the temps are supposed to take a major dip over the next few days so I’ll take 75 and sunny over 7 and frozen any day! Naturally, I’ve been mulling over which items to pack and since I’m only taking a carry on, I’m compelled to stick to the basics. So, here’s my version of resort essentials…something for the beach, a cover-up doubling as a sundress and a polished yet laid back look for dinner and drinks. What are your packing essentials for a long weekend in the sun?

Too bad they don’t have those wedges in my size. I don’t know about you but we had bathing suits in Target in the middle of December. I was kind of shocked.

It’s the perfect time for a winter escape. It’s so cold right now, so cold. I love the idea of packing a transitional pieces you can wear multiple times, it’s the best way to make the most of the limited space in your carry on. That dress is certainly perfect for all of those happy warm weather occasions.
