Shake It Up

Since I’ve come to love the combo of leopard and stripes (last seen here and here), I thought it would only make sense to shake it up with some gingham and leopard this time around.  I love a crisp, classic gingham top particularly when paired with a structured blazer but it’s fun to add the unexpected…a pop of leopard, skinny cargos and a cozy knit cap.  While I’m a fan of timeless pieces, it’s refreshing to mix and match the basics with fall’s predominant trends.  Thanksgiving in our family is a pretty casual affair so I’m thinking this may be the perfect ensemble for our traditional drive upstate to my brother’s.  These cargos are incredibly comfortable for a long car ride but the button down and the blazer give this look a polished feel to create the ideal balance.  Do you get glammed up for Thanksgiving or do you opt for easy, effortless pieces that are friendly and forgiving as you help yourself to another slice of pumpkin pie?
