Easy and Effortless

It’s an odd feeling when the person who you gave birth to is taller than you but that’s finally my reality.  My twelve year old daughter has suddenly sprouted up leaving me in the dust.  I suppose I could wallow in self pity but I choose to look at the glass as half full because this means that many of the things that she has outgrown are now mine for the taking.  This denim skirt is the latest and greatest acquisition.  I bought this for her last summer because I loved the light wash and the relaxed feel.  She wore this with soft, vintage tees and sandals or most times, she slipped it on over her bathing suit en route to the pool.  Now, that it’s too small for her, I see myself styling it in a similar way.  I’m all about an easy and effortless look for summer.  Paired with my favorite broken in white button down and flip flops, this ensemble is perfect for casual afternoons running around after the kids.  But, the best part is that all I have to do is swap out my roomy straw tote for a chic and simple clutch (like this one which is currently on sale!) to take me from a day at the park to a laid back dinner with my husband.
