Last week, we experienced two gorgeous fall days where the temps reached the low seventies so I decided to take full advantage and head out east to go apple picking.  Normally, we visit the Milk Pail Orchard in Watermill but due to our boys’ demanding travel baseball schedule this year, we didn’t have the opportunity to get out there on the weekends. However, I discovered that the Seven Ponds Orchard, which is also in Watermill, was still open so we ventured out there on a half day of school.  The best part, aside from the ideal weather, was the fact that we had the orchard all to ourselves.  The boys grabbed a wagon (and of course they took turns wheeling each other around in it…at full speed) and we strolled up and down the aisles in search of the different varieties of apples.  After we filled our bag to the brim, we took a drive over to the Channing Daughters Vineyard in Bridgehampton where I was in search of their orange wine. After reading a review a while back, I’ve been meaning to get there to pick up a bottle.  The vineyard itself is beautiful and the wine exceeded my expectations so I highly recommend visiting Channing Daughters if you find yourself in the area.
