Weekending
One of the things that I look forward to the most about the weekends is the freedom that comes with not being in a schedule for two whole days. It’s so refreshing being able to sleep in (for us that means eight o’clock if we’re lucky), brew a big pot of coffee and enjoy a leisurely breakfast of pancakes or fresh bagels. While the kids play (and fight… #reality) we plan out our day which usually consists of errands in the morning and then a mini day trip out East or into the city. We decided this fall to forego all the sports and instead focus on time spent as a family exploring different places and trying new things. So far, we’ve been apple picking (seen here) and to a winery (seen here) as well as a jaunt into the city last weekend to the Museum of Natural History (seen here). This weekend, we plan on visiting a pumpkin patch on the North Fork and hopefully stopping for some apple cider donuts and fresh local produce. Due to the unpredictable weather, layers and comfort are two essentials I cannot compromise on. Having said that, I always like to remain polished and pulled together so this is an example of an ideal weekend “uniform.”

I completely agree, Kate! Not having a schedule is one of the best parts about the weekends and Natural History is such a great way to spend a Saturday. Love all your picks, especially the red and black scarf!

I want to be wearing this today. It’s so perfect for a visit to the pumpkin patch. I am planning to head out there tomorrow for some pumpkins and pies (because you can’t not go to Briermere, right?). What patch do you go to?

Hi Lyndsay. We go to The Milk Pail. I highly recommend it. It’s in between the towns of Watermill and Bridgehampton so you can spend the day out there for lunch, antiquing and apple/pumpkin picking. And it’s off the beaten path so it’s not super toursity and commercial like some of the others. It’s really peaceful and beautiful there. You should definitely check it out!
