8 Foolproof Closet Staples I Invested in This Season

Cinq a Sept Cocktail Dress:

I bought this cocktail dress for an event we had back in the fall and I received so many compliments on it. I love the simple silhouette with the twist front detail and the tea length style. It’s such a versatile, timeless and flattering piece, something that I will reach for time and again.

J.Crew Evening Blazer:

I picked up this blazer on sale a few months ago after eyeing it for quite some time. I love the tailored fit and the longer length. I paired it with a black bodysuit turtleneck and these cropped pants for an event we had last month. But, I plan on styling it with jeans and a tee shirt bodysuit for a more casual look.

Chiffon Bodice Jumpsuit:

I recently bought this jumpsuit for an event we had where the dress code was iffy. I didn’t want to arrive overdressed or underdressed so I felt this piece was the perfect compromise. I love the chiffon bodice and the mock neck which lend this jumpsuit an unexpected twist. The pants do run long so I had to have them hemmed even with 4 inch heels. For reference, I’m 5″4.

Camel Wrap Coat:

I had been shopping for the perfect camel wrap coat for years so when I spotted this one on sale, I didn’t hesitate to pounce on it. It’s the ideal combination of cozy and chic. I automatically reach for this piece whenever I’m heading into the city. Most recently, I paired it with a puffed sleeve turtleneck, cropped pants, and stiletto booties for an afternoon at the ballet.

Reversible Vest:

This was another piece I was eyeing for quite some time before I finally splurged. This vest is a great investment because it’s equally functional and chic. The wax side can be worn casually with a sweater and jeans while the faux fur side can easily elevate any look for a more polished style.

Quilted Vest:

Speaking of vests, I wear this piece the most insofar as outerwear is concerned. I drive a lot so I prefer lighter layers and no constrictive sleeves. I also love the longer length of this vest to keep me warm when I run errands. I opted for the gold version but it comes in black as well.

Puff Sleeve Tee:

This puff sleeve tee is the perfect closet staple. It’s super flattering, soft, and versatile. Plus, it’s seasonless so it can be worn a plethora of ways whether paired with shorts, jeans, or trousers or layered under a cardigan or blazer. I love this top so much I ordered it in the striped version too.

Frame Jeans:

These jeans are by far my favorite pair. They are the perfect length, wash and fit. Plus, they have a bit of stretch so they’re very comfortable. I wear them absolutely everywhere. They’re well worth the investment.
