Up until this point, we’ve had a very pleasant summer here in New York.  The temps have mainly been in the mid-eighties accompanied by minimal humidity with the exception of a few days here and there. However, this past week, the temps have soared upwards while the air quality has plummeted.  These are definitely the times I am grateful that I no longer live in or commute into the city (been there, done that thank you very much).  I’ll take the sleepy suburbs with all my creature comforts any day (#allgrownup).  So, in order to combat this summer’s heat wave, I’ve been wearing loose tops and light weight shorts.  I bought this linen sleeveless top last summer (last seen here) and it’s quickly become one of my favorite wardrobe staples.  It goes with everything and I love the fact that I can dress it up or pair it down accordingly.  As for these shorts, I’ve been having trouble finding shorts that are not insanely short (I certainly don’t need any sideways glances from the other moms at the playground) so when I spotted these jacquard shorts in Target, I had a feeling these would be the perfect solution.  They’re ideal in length and I love the striped pattern (I also bought these because it was buy one, get the second one at half price…#score).  Don’t you just love Tarjay??
