Sea Salt Brownies
Sometimes (late at night), I find myself craving something sweet and chocolately (not an actual word, I know)….the gooey, melt in your mouth variety that is hard to stop at just one. We’ve all been there (or so I tell myself) so when I know the need is real, I try to whip up my own version where I cut down on the fat and calories and attempt to assuage my perpetual guilt. After sampling Trader Joe’s sea salt brownies (sooooo good fyi), I found myself dreaming about these bite size treasures and I knew I had to recreate them at home. So, I researched sea salt brownies and finally settled on this recipe which called for black cocoa and espresso powder, which in my humble opinion, made all the difference. I did swap out the butter for applesauce but truthfully, they were just as moist and decadent as the real deal.
* These chocolate chunk blondies are another favorite.

Those Trader Joe’s sea st brownies are sinful. I bought them once and practically devoured them in one sitting! I like how you modified the recipe to make these brownies a healthier alternative. They look delicious–and now I want brownies for breakfast!
