Well, hello there!  The kids are back in school after having a week off for winter break.  Normally, I would be itching for them to go back because winter break can be rough if we’re stuck indoors and they’re squabbling with one another.  But, this year, I decided after a not so fun Christmas break that we would get away for a few days for a much needed change of scenery and hopefully some fresh air!  Our trip down to Washington DC last week checked off both boxes (hallelujah) and thankfully we all returned refreshed and ready to tackle our busy schedules yet again.  I’ll be sharing the details about our trip later this week but for now, let’s talk about this simple, no-fuss, neutral winter look.

I bought this open cardigan from Loft last year on major sale. (Does your Loft have that awesome clearance rack in their dressing room? Mine does and I always find the best stuff there!)  It’s so cozy to cuddle up in for those bitter winter days (especially at night with my new favorite slippers plus love these which are such a steal.) but I also wear it as an easy layer to throw over a top and jeans when I’m running errands.  Unfortunately, this one is sold out but I’m linking to similar options below.  Annnd, this bag!  I’ve had my eye on it for quite some time so I finally treated myself right before Christmas.  I purchased mine from Poshmark at a quarter of the original retail price so I highly recommend going that route for any designer bag you’re coveting.  You may have to be patient and wait for it to come along but it’s so worth it!

I hope your week is off to a productive start.  The sun is shining here in New York and the temps are pretty mild so I’ll take that!
