Karlie Kloss for Warby Parker

I have been on the hunt for a new pair of sunglasses for quite some time.  I find that whenever I shop for eye wear, I always gravitate towards over-sized Jackie O inspired styles.  While I find this look to be perpetually chic, this time around I’m looking for something a bit more youthful and relaxed.  I feel somewhat silly at times showing up at the playground wearing a glamorous pair of sunglasses paired with my broken-in denim shorts and a white tee.  So, when the team at Warby Parker reached out to me to announce a new and exciting collaboration with Karlie Kloss, I was immediately intrigued.  I simply adore Karlie’s effortless style.  Her polished yet laid back approach defines casual perfection.  Today, Warby Parker is officially launching Karlie’s capsule collection online and in their stores.  She has designed three versatile and flattering frames, the Julia (my personal pick), Marple and Clara.  Each style is constructed from ultra-strong and lightweight titanium in Heirloom Silver and Gold and the frames feature gradient lenses in a variety of shades (my favorite being the Copper Fade).  But, the best part is that a portion of each sale will benefit an organization near and dear to Karlie’s heart, Edible Schoolyard NYC.  If you are not familiar with this institution, they provide low-income public schools with kitchens and gardens and provide  students with the necessary tools to develop lifelong healthy habits.  I wholeheartedly support this philosophy because I’m a big believer in establishing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and these habits start at a young age.  As I posted a few weeks back, my children and I planted our very own vegetable and herb garden in our backyard and they are so enthusiastic about the entire process!  In addition, for every pair of glasses sold, a pair is distributed to a person in need…how awesome is that?  Did you know that nearly one billion people worldwide do not have access to glasses?  I was shocked.  That means that 15% of the global population cannot effectively learn or work.  I love the fact that Warby Parker is determined to address this issue through their generous and benevolent commitment. Be sure to check out the following styles here and let me know….which pair is your favorite?
